Grand Teton and you can also be lucky 👍😄

Now we have been in a top national park in the USA for 2 days, which has not yet been recognized as such by many people, many just drive through to Yellowstone. Hooray 😀, good for us. The Grand Teton National Park is simply incredibly beautiful. It is not big by US standards, only about 1255 square kilometers. But here you can find high mountains, blue and green lakes, many animals and beautiful hiking trails. Everything is well maintained, 3 visitor centers with lots of useful information and the usual beautiful films. But it is not overcrowded. There are many people here with expensive cameras, Grand Teton is ideal for taking beautiful animal and landscape photos. With our small cameras, we can only give a first impression. The weather changed every 15 minutes today, that is why the pictures are so different.

Unfortunately, we only almost saw a grizzly bear and an elk, so there are no pictures of them. Hikers coming towards us warned us of a big grizzly bear on the further path. We didn't have bear spray with us, so we had to talk loudly or sing or something. After the first two lines of "Amid the morning dew on the mountain", I had to stop, I used to know the words better. So Freiburg student songs. Would that drive away the bear 🐻? In any case, I had already instructed Sandra to only run away after I had taken photos. But somehow it seemed a bit dangerous to us and we turned back.

And other hikers then told us about an elk, but unfortunately it was no longer at the small lake when we arrived there. Well, the landscape is magnificent and beautiful birds, a few bisons and the unavoidable, as they are present in large numbers, white-tailed deer, have also crossed our path.

By the way, we had booked a simple room with a shared bathroom here. The boss then said that we were here for 4 nights, he had upgraded us 😄 if that was ok? Well, why not ... we now live in our own cottage with 8 beds, two bathrooms and a large living room. You can also be lucky 🍀 the view from our rocking chairs to the mountains and the river is priceless 🍾
