Maumere

Our last destination in Flores was the small port city by the sea in the northeast. The travel guide says that the city, similar to Ende, has little to offer, yet we plan to stay there for 2 nights. And we are positively surprised. It is much more relaxed here than in Ende, in our opinion. In our opinion, both cities cannot really be compared. We ride on the motorbike once across the quite manageable city. Take a detour to the surrounding beaches, which are not necessarily dream beaches due to the dark sand. Further outside Maumere, we visit the Bugis fishing village of Wuring, built on stilts. There, too, we are greeted by the locals with big "hello" and Paul is invited for some photo shootings again. Maumere is definitely worth a short or longer stop.

From here, we finally took off by plane via Denpasar to Kuala Lumpur.
