Chile - Atacama and Valparaiso

So now it has been over eleven months and we are actually in Chile. Another one of those border crossings where a lot has changed. Here it is not only much more expensive, but also much cleaner and more Western than in Bolivia. From San Pedro de Atacama (actually just a desert village, but it attracts masses of tourists) we visit the Valle de la Muerte and the Valle de la Luna, both places in the supposedly driest desert on our planet with impressive landscapes. But the most beautiful and interesting thing in the Atacama Desert was actually an astronomy introduction that we participated in, since the sky here is usually very clear and you can see the stars really well. With several telescopes, we were able to learn about and observe various star constellations and planets. Very impressive!

From here we continue to Valparaiso, which is very close to Santiago. In this very pretty city, we spend the last days of our trip, strolling through the streets full of art and small shops, cafes and bars, and spend time at the beach, sometimes with a dog, sometimes without, and recharge our tan 😁 By chance we meet Mut and Martin from Wiesbaden, with whom we sip Pisco and Terremoto cocktails 🍸

These have been a few intense months full of experiences and encounters, and above all the 3 months of volunteering were extremely enriching... I will miss South America and it is probably a good thing that we didn't make it all the way to Patagonia, because that means we just have to come back 😃 Tomorrow our flight departs from Santiago, see you soon, my dears! ❤

Well, eleven months have passed and our little adventure comes to an end. Our last stop from the Salar de Uyuni is Chile. We start in San Pedro de Atacama, the place where it rains the least in the world, or so we were told 😊 We spent three nights there visiting the Valle de la Luna and the Valle de la Muerte, where you can see impressive desert landscapes. But one thing we did and really enjoyed was an astronomical tour that we did one of the nights. We were able to see different constellations, nebulas, stars, and other formations through quite large telescopes. It was really beautiful.

From there we went to spend our last days of the trip in Valparaiso, very close to Santiago, to enjoy a very special city full of art and of course the sea and the sun!

These have been a few months full of very good experiences that make you grow personally, and where, above all, the volunteering that we have done has given life to this little story. But I won't go into conclusions too much, because we will see each other very soon and I will be able to tell you about it in person, see you soon!
