The night noise

The sound of the night was the quiet rattling of the passing freight trains.

The day

The first sprint to Witzenhausen was quickly completed and we had a coffee there so that we could turn onto the Werra cycle path with renewed strength.

A great landscape, castles and palaces on what seems like every tenth hill, pleasant villages in sunny weather.

The route runs along the former German-German border and is part of the Iron Curtain Trail, which leads from Norway to the Black Sea.

In many sections, the Werra is the border. At Bad Sooden-Allendorf, the border deviates. We wonder several times whether we are in the west or the east.

The campsite in Eschwege offers premium pitches with a separate access for motorhome drivers with a view of the Werratalsee. The bushes in this area are so high that you can stare at the greenery for the special price. We prefer the tent meadow and also have a hedge. ;)
