Then we continued towards the Grand Canyon and for the first time got a glimpse of the vastness of the states. Endless, barely vegetated, hot and dusty plateaus. But due to the draconian penalties, everyone drives here with such consideration that it is hard to believe. Driving is really fun here. We spent the first night in the Hookah on a supermarket parking lot in Seligman. The manager, who was overly friendly like all Americans, had no problem with it. This little town on the historical Route 66 still looked like it did 60 years ago. It was full of old cars, shops, and gas stations that really gave off a Route 66 feeling.
