It is time to say goodbye to Yulara and Uluru: over night it has been raining apparently, so we were heading one last time back to the national park, in the hope to see some water flowing down Uluru. We walked to both waterholes, but unfortunately the rain the night before was not enough...
So, it was time to drive back to Alice Springs. On the way, we decided for a little detour to the Rainbow Valley via a gravel road turn-off from Stuart Highway. Stuart was quite impressed by the rocks from a distance, so we decided to walk up to the Mushroom rock. Well, at the rock we couldn´t really see, why it was called Mushroom rock, but the walk was nice to stretch the legs on a long driving day.
