Route: Moldau Cycle Path (Cesky Krumlov - Tyn nad Vltavou)

Kilometers: approx. 80

Altitude: approx. 800 meters

Weather: very sunny and warm

10:54 am (Nico)

Today, our first entry does not start at breakfast, but at our first break in Budweis, where Krissi and Alex will leave us in an hour. Budweis is a cute little town with many old charming houses. Our way there was relatively relaxed. We went up through a wooded area, but otherwise we could enjoy the area quite well.

11:35 am (Krissi)

I'm stressed. But I still have to write something. So the ice cream was something special. Everyone was allowed to choose their own toppings. Really delicious. But now we have to leave the group again. Goodbye my loves and ahoy!

We have been riding about 20km further since our lunch break. But somehow we have lost two of us and can't find them anymore... hmm, I guess the 10% loss is true after all. Who knows?

In any case, we rode through a really beautiful place that starts with an H. But the name was a bit too complicated for me, so I didn't remember it [Hluboka]. There were also really beautiful old houses and a huge red church with windows framed with yellow patterns. After we passed through there, we went through the woods again, up and down. This time it was even more beautiful because the left side was beautifully covered with deciduous trees and we were separated from the Moldau by a wooden fence on the right side. So the path ran directly along the Moldau. And for quite a long time. Then we climbed a small hill so that we were about 200m above the Moldau bank. Through the forest, you could have a really cool view from above. Oh yeah, before we entered the forest, we actually managed to get a bit lost for the first time and then stood in front of a closed gate.

Right now I'm sitting on some stones by the Moldau bank, letting my legs hang in the water. Julle and Max really wanted to swim and splashed around together in the relatively lukewarm water. This spot is a bit secluded from the village of Rudznek (or something), so we have our peace and quiet here, can listen to music, and write a bit in the book again.

One thing we noticed before is that there are really very few other people on our paths this time. And the few people we meet are mainly Czechs who are going on a day trip or something. And this time we don't see that many people with e-bikes either.

... So, those were all the stories for now. The two of them are getting changed again and that means I have to stop philosophizing now. We still have about 15km to go to Tyn nad Vltavou. Let's see what else we experience. Peace out and see you later!

5:01 pm (Julle)

We're already here! In Tyn. And we have been here for half an hour, which means that I have already taken a shower and now I'm air drying due to a lack of a towel.

Our accommodation is a hotel in a residential area, which reminds me a bit of the Kulturfabrik in terms of the corridors. Our "room" has a toilet, a shower, and 3 bedrooms (single and double beds) with an entrance area. And on the same floor, there is also a communal kitchen with everything you need. Since there is no breakfast anyway, we will probably have breakfast there tomorrow. The communication between Nico and the receptionist was really funny because the latter only spoke Czech. Finally, they communicated with each other using the Google Translator.

During our cool swimming break, Nico has already written and probably said everything, but still: it was so cool! Max and I went into the Moldau and had a water battle first. Then we swam around in the bay and the water was so warm! And dirty. But only full of tiny little green algae, which have now settled in my bikini. It's green now.

When all the bananas were eaten, we continued. It was only about 15km to Tyn and we passed through small villages that had partly pretty dilapidated houses, with cows or horses and through meadows. We also started passing fields more and more, but meadows with haystacks still dominated. For a while, it went up and down very gently. We had a little battle with an older e-biker who was on the road with his wife. We overtook each other at least four times, and he also spoke to us laughing. Unfortunately, we don't understand Czech.

Furthermore, since the others left, we have gotten lost several times - which is quite funny because Nico, Max, and I are actually the ones who can read maps. But it was never more than 100m and we always found our way back easily. Once, we stood in front of a closed gate where our path should have been.

We went straight into Tyn nad Vltavou along the Vltavou. People were swimming on the shore and there were many bars and restaurants, etc. Nico and I would have loved to stay there and enjoy a cold drink - but Max was in a hurry. His intestines had other plans. That's why we're already here.

We are sitting in the beer garden right now, waiting for our food. After showering, we went shopping first for breakfast and lunch tomorrow and decided to make a pasta salad for lunch. We are all looking forward to it. We talk too much, I'm going to stop writing now.
