Oh, how exciting it was - yesterday evening another grizzly came to the river at RipRap Campground. And this morning as we were driving east, another one ran along the road in front of us until it disappeared into the bushes.
Bye Bye Bella Coola Valley!
Continue up the Hwy20 (dirt/gravel road, worst bumps) with a partly 18% gradient up to Heckman Pass up to 5000ft. But it's the only way to the Main Land.
And you can see the many burnt trees of the last few years, but also the 'offspring' again.
The path down is not so steep, but just as bad to drive. From Anahim Lake onwards there was asphalt again, yay!
We are in the Chilcotin, Cariboo Regional District.
Then to the “Vagabond RV Park” at the beautiful 11km long Nimpo Lake.
It's hard to believe, but we have once again found an absolutely great campground!
