So my loves, here I am again! The dear Telekom explained to me after a long discussion that my unlimited flat rate for telephony and internet is exclusively for Germany and I can only use 43 GB abroad. Since I uploaded fun pictures for my blog, held endless video calls and watched a few Netflix movies, this limit was reached faster than I would have liked.
Now I have finally found a campsite with internet connection (in Vatnajokulspjodgardur Glacier National Park/Skaftafell). As you can see, I have now arrived in the southeast of the country.
But now to the Vatnsnes Peninsula, which is worth a day trip. The special feature of this peninsula is certainly the seal colonies, the truly special coast on the east side, combined with the HVITSERKUR rock rising from the sea.
Continuing on road 717, you will come across BORGARVIKI, a defense fortress built on a 177-meter high volcanic elevation from 870-1030 AD. I took a photo of the sign of the attraction so that you can read it. From this rock, you have a beautiful 360° view of VATNSNES and the hinterland.
