Last weekend we welcomed Holga. We met the newcomer at the Low Budget Hostel and immediately started planning our trip. After a short tour of Ubud, delicious Balinese food, and a visit to a sacred temple, we set off early in the morning towards the North. With our high-speed mopeds, we drove past lush green rice terraces and through winding mountain roads to the highlands. Exhausted from riding the scooter, we arrived at a homestay in the early evening. The fatigue blurred our senses a bit, because after we put on some fashionable floral leggings (it was very cold up there for our standards), we were hit by a strong smell of mold. However, since the small village had no other accommodations to offer, we tried to drown the smell with some beer and Balinese vodka, but it didn't help. The next morning, we headed to the botanical garden and took a long walk. After that, we went to the water temple, and the plan was to visit Bali's most beautiful waterfalls, but it proved to be a bit difficult for now. In the mountains, it suddenly became so foggy that we had to make a stopover. After a heavy rain shower, we continued towards the waterfall at a speed of 10. The descent was a bit challenging, but for experienced mountain climbers like us, it was not a problem. At the bottom, we were rewarded with several impressive waterfalls... The ascent was anything but pleasant, and we were sweating a lot.
When we finally reached our destination on the other side, we arrived at our accommodation just in time for sunset. Unfortunately, this place was also not spared from mold spores. After this long and exciting day, we fell asleep in our beds, completely exhausted...
