Sydney was the paradise for Giselle. We could stay with Wilson, Niki, Wilki and Wilhelmina. Suddenly Giselle had two older sisters with many dresses. From Elsa to Rapunzel - everything was possible!
The days in Sydney went by quickly. Opera House, Korean food, Manly Beach and Harbour Bridge were only a few of the highlights.
Leaving Sydney, we drove to Canberra where temperatures dropped
and the weather became unsteady until today. We enjoyed the layout of the city and the tour in the parliament building. We saw a surprising big amount of wildlife (different parrots, kangaroos, possums
and numerous rabbits).
We continued through the highland to the south coast through many kilometers of forest and pastures. In the evening we played on the beach of Lakes Entrance. The next day we joined the Penguin Parade on Philippi Island.
It was very touristy, but still cute when the penguins waddled out of the big ocean just meters next to us. That night we suffered on the beach with wind, rain, and low temperatures - penguins have to be earned.
Staying mostly on good campgrounds so far, Giselle and the whole family enjoy the facilities for kids. Pools (preferably heated) are leading the ranking followed by jumping pillows (huge trampolines).
First thing we did in Melbourne was to visit Peter's Pie House. It was a surprise visit since Andreas and Peter haven't met since 2007. Time flies by quickly. The only thing that stays the same are the fabulous Pies!
Downtown we made a few walking tours - meandering through narrow streets, exploring new coffee shops and visiting exquisite arcades. We took a walk along the river, finishing our pleasant day with some Taiwanese Pearl Tea, Crispy Pepper Chicken and delicious dumplings. Australia is a country of good coffee and great food.
