After we had already received the tip to visit Central BBQ in Decatur from Big Bob Gibson, this was confirmed by the employee at our accommodation in Memphis.
Founded in 2002, it has been consistently ranked among the top 3 BBQ restaurants in Memphis since 2003.
Once we arrived on site, we joined the queue. Despite the restaurant being full, there was no rush.
Steffi ordered Nachos with Smoked Turkey, I opted for a slab of Dry Ribs with Coleslaw and Mac and Cheese.
The food was served very quickly, as everywhere so far. Steffi was overwhelmed by her large portion. Although it tasted really good, she could only eat half of the Nachos. She took the rest home.
My Ribs were smoked with Hickory and very tasty. There was a lot of meat to nibble on. It was easily separated from the bone. There was also a sweet, smoky BBQ sauce. Delicious! So far, the best Ribs since the beginning of our journey. The side dishes were also convincing in terms of taste, so we left Central BBQ satisfied and full. The price-performance ratio here is very good.
