Actually, we wanted to drive from Rapid City to the Badlands National Park, which is known for its weathered landscape. We looked out the window and everything was white. It had snowed overnight and the white flakes were still falling from the sky. The roads were slippery and we could only see a few hundred meters ahead. So we skipped the national park and went straight to Cheyenne. Our journey took us through snowstorms, foggy landscapes, and freezing rain. Once we arrived in Cheyenne, we only focused on our dirty laundry and a very good steak at a restaurant. On November 7th, the weather was completely different. The sun was shining in a bright blue sky. We visited the few sights of Cheyenne, the capital of Wyoming. The city is known for its event "World's Largest Outdoor Rodeo and Western Celebration," which takes place in the summer months. Today, there were no tourists except for us. We visited the State Capitol, walked around the main square with giant cowboy boots, strolled through a few shops, and visited the State Museum. The museum displays various items, from mammoth and dinosaur bones to Indian and cowboy clothing, and even a snowmobile.
And we continued to the next capital. Denver in Colorado.
