Cachagua

On Tuesday (8.2.) we went to Cachagua by the sea for three days, two hours north of Santiago, where Franzisco rented a summer house for a month and his wife Marcela with daughter Camilla stayed. For Franzisco, it was the main working time in the summer, as he works in a large company that exports fruits, especially grapes. So he didn't have much time. It was not uncommon for him to make phone calls late at night. Martin also accompanied him for another day further north, where Franzisco visited many different fundos/vineyards to speak with the employees on site. They were on the road for a total of 15 hours and drove 700 km.

Cachagua is a beautiful place with unique houses, mostly with seagrass roofs, some located in a pine forest and near the sea. Our house was in front of a small offshore island where there were many penguins and pelicans. There was often mist here by the sea, and the sun usually didn't show up until around noon. The various rock formations on the coast impressed me. It was a nice get-together with friends, and we were deliciously taken care of. We had to get used to the times, as it was rare to have dinner before 22:30 in the evening. The days were very relaxing for us after all the efforts before the trip.
