I spent the morning of October 21st on Ciovo, going jogging on the island in good weather. After that, I packed my things for the final 30 kilometers to Split. I wanted to spend the rest of the day getting my bike and equipment in order. I was allowed to stay a day earlier in Laura's and my apartment, our hosts were really warm-hearted people with many good excursion tips!
The next day, we took the bus to Split airport to pick up our rental car for the next three days and then pick up Laura. Exceptionally, the weather wasn't so good, but it was enough for a visit to the fishing village of Trogir and an evening walk in the port of Split.
The next day, we drove to the Krka National Park by rental car in brilliant sunshine. In the park, you could spend half a day well, there are small hiking trails with waterfalls and of course a large lake with very clear water. Out of season, it was anything but crowded! In the afternoon, we drove along the coast to Primosten, a small village on a peninsula. Even here, there was hardly anything going on in October, and you could explore the small alleys undisturbed. Back in Split in the evening, a good meal was a must!
On October 24th, we left the car behind and took a ferry to the island of Hvar. Again, with perfect weather, we could take a walk for a while and even briefly swim. We stayed on Hvar for about 4 hours and could have easily spent more time there! But the next day, we had to take the catamaran ferry to Dubrovnik in the early morning, and of course, we had to return the rental car... As always, time flew by too quickly!
