On the way home, Hamburg - Basel/Binningen, April 25, 2023

We arrived on time in Hamburg, were able to get some sleep and enjoy a relaxed breakfast. Then we took the bus to the main train station. There, we had a coffee with a couple who was also traveling.

When we went to the platform, this time the Deutsche Bahn did not disappoint us. First it was 5 minutes, then 10 minutes, and finally 25 minutes delayed, and instead of going to Interlaken, the train will only go to Basel.

The Deutsche Bahn lived up to its reputation. As the delay increased significantly, an announcement was made that the section between Kenzingen and Emmendingen is closed due to an accident. It's amazing how many people fit into a train. The photos show the people waiting after a first articulated bus has already transported a larger group from Kenzingen to Emmendingen and some taxis have passed by.

We didn't know Kenzingen and Emmendingen before, they are located between Offenburg and Freiburg. In our desperation, we called Désirée and she picked us up after about an hour! Thank you!

This is now the end of our world trip. I hope you enjoyed the posts. We are now in the process of readjusting, reactivating the various devices, going through the mail, etc. It's incredible how much accumulates in just under four months.
