This time I had booked the Royal Caribbean tour "Rock of Gibraltar" at short notice. We were taken to the striking rock with five other participants.
There we visited "St. Michael's Cave", an impressive stalactite cave with a rock formation that doesn't require much imagination to recognize an angel in it. A show with light, video and music brought the rock to life.
I particularly liked the next part of the program: we got to meet the famous monkeys. To my delight, the encounter was more intense than I expected, because one of the baby monkeys jumped into my arms. It had been lured by a peanut from our taxi driver. I was also able to give the head of the monkey family a peanut.
Afterwards the journey continued down the rock via the airport to "Europa Point" with its lighthouse and mosque.
At our request, our taxi driver dropped us off in the city center. There we had plenty of time to stroll around the shopping streets and have something to eat and drink.
I followed Dr. Duryea's recommendation and drank a "Gibraltar Barbary Beer", which is brewed on the Isle of Man. I ate delicious "Beef Rollitos" with chips. The alternative would have been fish and chips.
I went back to the ship, had dinner with friends and then watched the magician Charlie Caper.
