From Mount Cook to Queenstown

Gepubliceerd: 18.11.2022

We have breakfast at the Mount Cook Campground and then drive past the Heritage Hotel again, partly to have internet access and partly to enjoy luxury toilets again. 🤪 Today we continue to Queenstown, which is located on Lake Wakatipu.

We make a stop at a salmon farm and feed the salmon. 🐟🐟

We then pass through Twizel and Omarama and continue over the Lindis Pass.

And then always along the Lindis River, where we have a picnic break.

and do a bungee jump from the Kawarau Bridge... just kidding 😂😂

But we watch a few jumps.

There's a winery on every corner here. So we make a stop for a little glass in the sun.

In Queenstown, we have significant difficulties finding the Campground as Queenstown is a construction site.

After a few detours, we find the Seaview Campground... but without a view of the lake 😭

Queenstown is very touristy, the total opposite of the nature we have been in so far. We take advantage of that and try the legendary Fergburger in Queenstown.

You stand in line and get the menu in your hand. After ordering, you get a number and have to wait until it is called. In return, you get the most delicious burger we have ever had 🍔🍔

At the harbor, we have a drink with a view of Lake Wakatipu.

In the evening it rains quite heavily and it is supposed to stay that way for the next few days.

Therefore, we are reconsidering our travel plans today.
