Working on a cherry plantation

Gepubliceerd: 06.03.2017

Hello everyone,

my blog is taking a little time jump here. After the West Coast, our road trip continued and I saw and experienced a lot, but I also want to have something to talk about when I get back home. Besides, I always lag behind with my blog.

After some time in Christchurch and an unsuccessful job search, a friend brought me to Cromwell to work with him on a cherry plantation. I had a few nice last days (for example, I went to a rugby game) and then hitchhiked to Cromwell. Google says it takes about 5 hours by car for this route and I was lucky hitchhiking, so it actually only took about 5 hours.

So now I'm in Cromwell, besides mountains, wineries, orchards, and very good weather, there's not much here. But since we have a nice boss and good working conditions, I'm very satisfied here.

Last weekend, we finally had time to go on two excursions. One was mountain biking:

MTB in Wanaka

and the other was hiking:

Ben Lomond (Queenstown)

Let's see where I'll be heading next, I don't have a plan yet.
