Done, the Alps are behind us (but plenty of other mountains ahead ...). The last pass was called Wurzenpass, it was so steep (up to 18%) that we had to push for almost 2 hours. Before that, in the Drautal valley to Villach, bike paths were an absolute exception, which is why we had to move on the main road for a large part of the journey with trucks and cars. So .... we can't complain about Austrian bike paths, because there aren't any 🤪 ... or at least very few.
Villach is beautiful, but we didn't stay there long - just for a delicious ice cream.
After we did some shopping (Nicole, we still need to talk about that), we continued on to Slovenia; first along the Gail (very beautiful), accompanied by the Marienpilgerweg, then to Wurzenpass.
At the top, we reached the border to Slovenia and after a rapid descent, we reached the Sava Valley.
The first major town - Kranjska Gora. There, we will be staying at Anton's place and will be greeted with an apricot schnapps from a bottle without a label.
Impressive in this place is the view of the Triglav National Park!
In the church, there is a niche with a Fatima Madonna.
Friendly and warm hosts, cheerful people, good gastronomy (as far as we can judge after a sample) characterize this place.
