I slept in late on this day, went to Aldi across the street to get breakfast, and then headed into the city. Since I missed the first city tour, I rescheduled for a later one and in the meantime went to see the Anne Frank House from the outside and then went to the church across the street.
After I checked out the Anne Frank statue, I walked to the meeting point for the tour and grabbed some food along the way. The tour was really good and covered all the important parts of Amsterdam city center.
After the tour ended, I went to a bar with three other people where we tried Bitterballen, a specialty from the Netherlands. Then I continued walking through the city and had the interesting experience of having pigeons sit on my arms and pick food out of my hands that someone had given me.
After that, at the store of the German brand 'Kauf dich glücklich', which was celebrating its 5th anniversary, I got a delicious free waffle.
In the Jordaan neighborhood, I finally went to a pizzeria that was recommended on the city tour, but it wasn't that good. In the evening, I went back to the hostel and met two Germans there, with whom I had a nice conversation.
