54. Tag: Unfortunately, there will be no sunrise this morning as the sky is cloudy. So we can sleep a little longer. Afterwards, we take a morning walk along a hidden path to a nearby restaurant with a magnificent view and to the neighboring beach.
The sun is starting to come out more and more. So we pack our swimwear and head down to the main beach. "Main beach" because you can reach a twin bay through a small cave, the "side beach". Initially, we have the beach all to ourselves, except for "our" dog who has been following us every step of the way since we woke up. When we speak to him or look at him, he wags his tail. All other people are barked at. After about an hour, another couple joins us, and just before we leave, a third couple joins as well.
In the early afternoon, we then embark on the journey to the west side of Pelion. For a distance of 11 km as the crow flies, we have to drive 38 km. This takes well over an hour, and with almost no traffic!
Finally, we arrive in Kala Nera. The place is obviously designed for large numbers of tourists. However, today it seems quite deserted. After a short stroll, we head to the campground (Sikia). It makes a very good impression. The dinner at the campground's restaurant is among the best we have had in Greece so far. We watch "Visite" on NDR feeling very full 😊
