Nice trip with consequences

Get up, do laundry, have breakfast (we treated ourselves: porridge with fruit and yogurt as a special - the Africans don't eat that and therefore it's really expensive, but it felt good), then meet Morris in the city.

Another trip was planned.

Start as usual: crowded bus to the destination, about 1 hour drive, then walk.

Isimila Stone Age: A small canyon in the heart of Tanzania. It was impressive to see! We took many photos, had a lot of fun, and Morris explained a lot about the plants again. When we finished the circular path, we had been on our feet for 4 hours, but we still wanted to go to the waterfall nearby..

So after a short break, we went on another hike.

It was a mix of sand, debris, stones in the ground, and real climbing sections again. I would have liked to capture it for you, but I needed both arms and legs, so I couldn't take any pictures. Once again, we were glad to have a guide with us, alone we wouldn't have had a chance to find it.

We were rewarded with a small, but beautiful, empty waterfall and we dared to swim around.

I'm used to cold showers by now, but that was another challenge!

I kept asking Morris if there really are no animals here that could be dangerous for me 😅 But everything stayed relaxed, we had a lot of fun and a good cool down before the exhausting way back.

When we were back in civilization, a lot of children came towards us. They shouted 'Mzungo!' again and were so happy! We had to wait for the bus anyway and played with them for a while.

It was such a great moment!

We returned at 7pm in the evening and new 'roommates' were waiting for us! Saskia and Mia from Germany, we understood each other immediately and enjoyed the end of the exhausting day in a cozy way.

Do you know that feeling..

The alarm rings and you just feel sick! Yes, you don't get spared from that on a trip either..

Yesterday clearly had a catch: no shady spot!

So I spend the day with a sunstroke in bed. It's no use.. you also have to take care of your own health.

It's really dangerous, because there's wind and the temperatures in Iringa are not super warm (usually 25-27 degrees). But the sun exposure is completely different and I'm not well-prepared with my 'Mzungo skin'

But even in such situations, you appreciate the local people and they make sure that I drink a lot and bring fruit for strength.

Hakuna Matata! Everything will be fine!
