So, after a final day of cycling through the rice fields, we continue overnight on a sleeper bus for 12 hours to Da Nang. First we wait at a travel agency, then suddenly we set off without any prior notice, walking 300 meters across the street in the dark, putting our luggage in the bus, getting on and the second the bus takes off like a scorched pig. There are no seat belts, nothing works, no lights, no wifi. You sometimes have to hold on tight so that you don't roll out and you definitely can't be taller than 1.80... and that's the VIP bus... But we still slept for a few hours. Incredibly wild!
Da Nang is very beautiful, but also much bigger than we imagined. 1 million inhabitants. our hotel on an offshore island, finally by the sea. It feels a bit like a vacation. Red flags everywhere on the beach because of waves and currents. But there are small, limited bathing areas with lifeguards. They whistle like crazy all the time. We could also watch the local fishermen. They bring the net out in small, round boats like nutshells and then painstakingly haul it back in by hand. 10 people on each side pull the net back onto the beach in 30 minutes. The yield was a few small fish, two large jellyfish. Incredibly hard work.
We were traveling by scooter and looked at a large temple complex with a huge white statue and the Monkey Mountain and the Marble Mountains. There were also huge caves there, all marble inside and old temples. The food is delicious and even cheaper than in the north. In the evening at the night market we eat lobster 🦞, shrimp 🦐 mussels 🐚 and other seafood for only 600 TDong, i.e. 23 euros for 2 people. There are many restaurants on the beach where you can choose and prepare fish fresh from tanks. Really nice… you could stay here longer
