So, today I had to hit the road again. My destination for today is Alexandroupolis, near the Turkish border. If I feel like it, I might even go over there...
There were beautiful mountain landscapes to admire, and also many views of the sea. It was a relaxed drive, if it weren't for the coolant temperature rising unexpectedly in between. 45 minutes later, everything was back to the usual normal range. I had already experienced this in Serbia...
Meanwhile, I had the feeling that the engine was running a bit choked in this context, but that can be misleading with the powerful 54 horsepower... Maybe the injection is temporarily malfunctioning? But in what context does the engine block get hot then? Well, I'll have to sleep on it...
By the way, I had a brief traffic jam on the highway because a Toyota in front of me caught fire. Fortunately, no one was injured.
Today I paid toll five times, a total of 8.70 euros. It was completely stress-free, you just drove to a terminal where you could pay in cash or with card. It went great.
The whole toll thing is a phenomenon anyway. In all six countries I have traveled to so far, I had to pay toll in advance online or directly on site. And that works really well in each case. Only in Germany it doesn't work like that... Hmmm?
Then I had a minor wildlife accident. A bee hit the vehicle front with undiminished force, causing the paint to chip massively... Unfortunately, I don't have comprehensive insurance... 🙃
Other than that, there were no special incidents. After 347km from Thessaloniki, I arrived at Hotel Thalassa in Alexandroupolis. Tomorrow I want to travel to Turkey, let's see if I can make it to Istanbul...
