Day 3 - Taipei 101 / Temple / Rainbow Bridge

Ni hao - Good day, hello and Xie xie (pronounced sche sche) - thank you

are our most important words for the day.

Masks are only required indoors, so we have stocked up on beautiful design masks.

Taipei 101 Tower: 508 meters high and completed in 2004 as the tallest building in the world - then surpassed in 2010 by the Burj Khalifa at 828 meters.

It has 101 floors above ground and 5 basement floors and the largest wind damper (660 tons) in the world, which prevents the building from shaking during earthquakes and typhoons. Very impressive to see.

In 37 seconds, the elevator takes you to the 89th floor, and your ears might pop.

The Night Market on Rahoe Street with the adjacent Rainbow Bridge and the Songshuan Temple was next on the list. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Matsu, the patron saint of fishermen.

To finish the day, we visited the Xiangtian Temple, dedicated to Lord Guan - the protective deity for business people, police officers, and military personnel.

We got the crafting set for the New Year at Taipei 101 - I took a photo so we can see the end result. There's even a little lantern included - get ready for the "Chinese" New Year.
