Tenerife 2nd day

Today Craig, Anita and I had to get up very early to catch the 7am shuttle bus. We took a taxi to the bus station.

From there we continued on quickly, as we had already bought our day tickets the evening before. As we were not going to the last stop of the bus this time, I had to make sure that we got off in time.

That went smoothly. Finding the stop for the next bus was not so easy, but we managed that too. The bus took us to a place from which it would have been about an 18-minute walk to our destination. But since Anita is not good on foot, we took a taxi to "Submarine Safaris" at the Marina San Miguel. We managed to arrive 20 minutes before our dive trip started.

Everything went smoothly with our reservations and we were given boarding passes. With these we were able to board the red and yellow submarine a few minutes later. Getting on board was easy and the submarine was very spacious. It can accommodate up to 44 passengers, each of whom has a window seat. In addition to the window, there is also a small monitor in front of you that shows the area in front of the submarine. There are also headphones for commentary in various selectable languages.

We set off into the underwater world, past countless fish and two shipwrecks. At a depth of 30 m we stopped on the seabed and were able to watch a diver playing with two huge stingrays. Then we went back to the harbor. There each of the passengers was given a diving certificate.

Exhilarated by the wonderful experience, we headed home and took a taxi to the bus stop. Two hours later we were back in Santa Cruz and treated ourselves to a meal outside in a restaurant. The beer and the Andalusian calamari were excellent.

Afterwards we went to the shuttle bus stop that took us back to the ship.

In the evening I attended Tracey Shield's concert. However, my enthusiasm was limited.
