Tag 275 - Bootstrip on the lagoon of the seven colors

प्रकाशित: 24.12.2021

Hello everyone

Today we actually had a lot of time in the morning because we didn't meet Peter and Jenny until 11 o'clock.

As usual, we got up a little before 8 o'clock and sat on the balcony. Suddenly it was 10 o'clock and we still had to take our laundry to the laundry, buy snacks and drinks. We actually thought that an hour would be enough for this, but we were back exactly at 11 o'clock.

Because today we rented a boat including a skipper to explore the lagoon. The cool thing was: since we have our own pier, we were picked up right at our front door ☺️

Peter and Jenny started at their place, picked us up and off we went on the tour!

It was just fantastic!

We saw colorings in the water that made us think we were in the Caribbean!

Crystal clear water in a wonderful gradient from almost white to dark blue! The sight really blew us all away!

We stopped every now and then to swim and take photos.

There was an abandoned hotel at one spot which, as our skipper explained, belonged to the governor of Bacalar. However, since it was supposed to have more rooms than his permit allowed, he had to go to prison. We asked if we could go there and the skipper's answer was: "The owner is in prison, I don't think he would mind."

We immediately set off. But after only a few minutes (we hadn't even made it inside the building yet), a few Mexicans came up to us and explained that it was private property. We apologized several times and quickly left. You never really know who you're dealing with and we definitely don't want to upset anyone here.

We continued to enjoy the incredibly beautiful water and couldn't believe it when the time was up.

On the way back we saw a sailboat that couldn't make any progress due to the lack of wind. Our skipper said he knew him and we ended up towing him. It's really great how people here still help each other!

We were brought back to our bungalow door at 4 p.m. and agreed with the others that we would meet for dinner after some "rest time".

Since the laundry is only open until 5 p.m., we went more or less directly (as usual, we arrived 10 minutes before closing time). It's great, everything freshly washed and folded for only CHF 6.-!

We walked around the shops and bought flip-flops and an "after sun". The sun was really strong today, but we didn't really get sunburned - it should be tanned tomorrow ☺️

Back at the accommodation, we got hungry and got ready for dinner. Since the other two weren't very hungry, we decided to go eat first and meet them later for a drink. Everything worked out great! Kevin and I were just about to pay when they came running up.

Together we sat down in the bar next door, drank a mojito and exchanged pictures.

Tomorrow Kevin and I will continue our journey, Peter and Jenny will stay one more night. After that, they will go inland and we hope to meet them again on Holbox in the first week of January.

We really got to experience a lot with them in the last few days and were very happy to see them again!

So, now we let the evening end as it began: cozy on the balcony.

It's already quite late and we're also exhausted from the sun. That's why the pictures will only be posted tomorrow, but they will come - promised 😉

So my dears: see you sooooon
