20.9.19 Elm - Linthal

प्रकाशित: 20.09.2018

Today morning started special. Yesterday I was informed by the boss of the house that breakfast is served from 8 o'clock. When I was in the breakfast room shortly after 8 o'clock, everything was deserted. Well, at 8:10 the boss appeared with fresh rolls, for which I was compensated with a table with a direct view of the Martinsloch and the Tschingelhörner. In addition, I was provided with numerous information about the ideal position of the sun and the Martinsloch. There was also a reunion with "my two" military goats from last night. I was entertained very well.

But now it was time to set off, today I treated myself to the first ascent with the Bähnli from Elm to Empächli. The hike led me along the Elmer Höhenweg towards Risetipass. There I almost thought I had to abort my tour today. Yesterday I already had the feeling that the hunters shoot a lot here in the area. Now I noticed that this wasn't the hunters but the army. The best army plays war here and my hike leads right through the shooting range... after a clarifying call to the information number, I am allowed to continue my hike. So I go over the Richetlipass to Linthal. The ascent and especially the steep descent that never seems to end challenge me. The great thing about these mountain passes is the completely new perspective as soon as the pass summit is reached. After 5 hours and 45 minutes, 22 kilometers and 1100 meters of altitude, I arrive at the Hotel Raben in Linthal. The hotel is extremely likable, I am warmly welcomed by the nice Kenel family. Also the dinner, now for the first time "wild" and the salad typical Glarner style with Ziger is very tasty.

Now I treat my tired legs to a well-deserved rest...
