6th stop: Saint-Félicien (my highlight so far)

The absolute best day! We started early and had probably the most beautiful route imaginable. The nature during the almost 3-hour drive amazed us all. The route was exactly how I imagined Canada to be with forests, mountains, lakes, and rocks right next to the road. Then we went to the zoo, where I saw polar bears, otters, and red pandas. Of course there were other animals too, such as pumas, monkeys, camels, etc., but the otters and red pandas were absolutely amazing for me. I spent 25 minutes just looking at the little pandas because they were really so cute. After we spent 2.5 hours in the zoo, we quickly went home because there was a solar eclipse in North America. Since we are too far north, we didn't have a total eclipse, but the partial one was also okay to see. It wasn't particularly exciting. We hoped that more of the sun would be obscured, but you could definitely still notice that it was getting darker and when you took a quick look you could see that between 1/3 and 1/2 was obscured. We didn't buy any special glasses so we could only take a quick look. But it was definitely still very cool!! Afterwards we had a barbecue without a grill 😂 So the meat went into the pan and the most important thing when barbecuing: the side dishes 😍 after dinner we made a fire on our private beach area. Unfortunately the lake was still completely frozen but a short walk was still very nice! At the end we were able to observe a perfect starry sky and I even saw a shooting star!! 😍😍 I have actually never seen so many stars at once, it was really indescribable! So as you can see: an absolutely fantastic day!
