Exhausted from our walk, we quickly fell asleep at 10 PM. I hadn't quite adjusted to the new time zone yet, but overall we slept really well 😊
In the morning, we enjoyed breakfast in the sun from Anne (coffee, eggs, toasties, jam) and bought her homemade honey.
She gave us more tips for our upcoming tour - including a festival in Vancouver at the end of our round trip. We said goodbye to Sip and Clementine 🐈🐈, as well as to Anne, who was a great start to our tour 😊
Off to the car rental -> Our Dodge RAM is really a beast 😅 We'll definitely make it safely through the Canadian mountain landscape 😊 and the car drives really smoothly🤙
Heading north (Highway 99), we cross Stanley Park and stop for a short walk on the Cathedral Trail (Thanks to Martina for this tip 😉). We encounter gray squirrels again, but we're too slow for photos😅 We make a stop at Second Bay (southeast side), from which we can look at our beach spot from last night. Next to it, right in the park, there is a public swimming pool 😅 Fun fact: Here, not only giant trees grow, but also a lot of blackberries🤤 we already snacked on some yesterday.

With cookies and crackers, we take a lunch break on the bed of our Dodge.

Afterward, we drove up the loop road to Brockton Point Lighthouse (photospot east tip Stanley Park), from which we can see North Vancouver and Downtown.
Our path continues north into the hilly mountains. Always along the coast (Burrard Inlet / Howe Sound). At Lions Bay, we find a small but beautiful beach with a fantastic view!☀️ Down below, it’s almost 30°C in the shade, and in the distance, we can already see the first snow-capped mountains. We like it so much that we spontaneously jump into the water and enjoy the sun on the towel with an ice cream😊
Around 4:30 PM, we reach our next stop: Squamish - a small wooden house in the middle of the forest (within a campsite) - bed, fridge, coffee machine with coffee and tea - just outside the door is a rest area. We don’t need more than that🙂
Our evening plan: to the viewpoint (Squamish Spit & Estuary) and then to Walmart. At the abandoned SUP and kayak spot, we have a mega view of a mix of river and mountains surrounded by boggy plant sections.🏞
Walmart is huge! We buy the essentials ... and of course some other stuff that wasn't on our shopping list 😅 overall, the price for our next 4-day tours is totally reasonable. For our first dinner, we freestyle with 'wrap bags', feta, corn, beans, tzatziki, tomato sauce, and cheese. Different from home, but still super delicious🤤
Tomorrow we’ll continue to Shannon Falls waterfall, including gondola (Sea to Sky), but first we’ll get a bit of 'recovery sleep'.
