Indian Summer

प्रकाशित: 05.10.2023

Our journey takes us along Lake Superior. This is the largest inland lake in the world. There are great places that we go to - and there are always small sights. The season is over and we take with us what is offered to us. (bush tarpaulin Museum, Indian Historical Park…) We are in the “First Nation” area. On the beach we get to know the chief of the First Nations in this area, because his children think Freddy and MANNI are really great and go and get their daddy. Nowadays no one wants to be called Indian anymore . It's always nice for us when we're happy to be seen and get along with people in a friendly way. We now often find great places where we can stand for a few nights. The canoe is used and Freddy feels comfortable. Who has already has its own lake. There are over 1,400 islands in the lakes that stretch across the country.

We have now had 3 weeks of beautiful weather. Here we would speak of a golden autumn. Here it is the famous “Indian Summer”. This time from mid-September to the end of October is characterized by warm temperatures and blue skies that make the leaves explode in autumn. When you look at the yellow-red colored forests your heart opens, it looks so beautiful. The famous maple leaf on the Canadian flag is now really just that bright red - awesome. Oh, by the way, they say Indian Summer, because at this time it is “Indians” have herded their animals out of the mountains, summer is coming to an end and everyone is preparing for winter. (I heard)

According to the forecast, the weather will soon cool down. You wouldn't believe it, but we already had Oktoberfest knuckles. That also works in MANNI. When you see the girls in their dirndls on Instagram, you think of home. Yes, from And now homesickness is knocking... It's nice that you can make a call via FaceTime at any time these days and can not only talk to your loved ones but also see them.

The next city for us is Winnipeg. We would like to experience Thanksgiving here on Monday.

Oh-and what makes us really happy: Jesse has announced his arrival in November. He's coming to Calgary and we'll spend the time together until Vancouver. The anticipation is huge!!

We are now in the state of Manitoba. Our time difference is 7 hours. When we drink our first coffee in the morning, you in Germany look forward to the end of the day.

So, now we wish you all a wonderful golden autumn 🍂
