Langkawi. Even in paradise, accidents can happen.

Then I recommended Domi and Benedikt to visit the tropical fruit farm. In the picture here are many pineapple plants. It actually started raining when we arrived at the farm. Perfect timing, we were undercover until the tour started.

Four weeks ago this was not fenced off. I was bitten by mosquitoes up there. At least now there is this completely safe barrier. After that, we went to the beach. And again, as we left and returned to the hostel, it started raining. Perfect timing for the second time today.

25 December 2018: Lunch. Pasta with pesto and lots of cheese. Yesterday it was already funny there. She asked us if we wanted more cheese. We said yes. She came with a small bowl with very little in it. Suddenly she pulled out more from behind her back. The joke of the day! Tip secured. We laughed so hard. She did the same thing with bread in the following days. The service was always amusing.

Klaus moved here and now has a house on the island. His wife left him. Understandable. He drinks like a fish and smelled unpleasant. That's why I didn't want to go with him. But peer pressure and all. Fortunately, he had something else to do in the evening, so our paths diverged. Here in the picture is an old shipwreck. I always find things like that interesting.

26 December 2018: Slept longer again and then went to the Seven Walls, a great waterfall for swimming. Here was a monkey that was happy about the stolen coconut.

Now for the misfortune. Benedikt and I rented a jet ski. The key is attached to the vest, so it goes off if you fall into the water. Well, we fell into the water. Key not properly attached. Uh yeah. Lost the key in the open sea. Jet ski won't start anymore. I swam 800 m to the mainland. No one spoke English. It worked at a boat rental. We rescued Benedikt. He had drifted far away to the rocks. He had his toes stuck and broken between the jet ski and the rocks. Hospital, cast, and crutches for him now. Fortunately, I had a lucky escape. Compared to him, my abrasions on my arms, legs, and feet were relatively mild.
