Hiking day 3

For breakfast today, there was a cheese and ham omelette at the Panorama Restaurant. That should keep me going for a while. There was a lot of road today. But there was very little traffic. Older Greeks always greet pedestrians friendly. I think that's really nice. Towards Elafonisi, the density of white small cars increased. I made such good progress that I was wondering why it would take me 1.5 hours for the last 3 km. When the dirt road ended, the reason became clear. Again, only for goats, who also observed me with great interest. Considering that today was actually not a good weather, Elafonisi was quite crowded. The forecast announced decreasing wind and a clear night for the evening. So I will sleep on the beach. For dinner, I had delicious spaghetti with seafood. When the sun came out on the beach, the real feeling of Crete came back. I watched the kite surfers for a while and then set up my camp about 1.5 km outside. It was still incredibly windy, so I could hardly set up the tent and I had to use all the guy lines for the first time and additionally secure everything with stones.

After a good hour, I finally fell asleep.
