18|11|2019, Exploring Noosa National Park

प्रकाशित: 18.11.2019

Hi guys,

today we explored the "Noosa National Park". The day started once again with a delicious hot coffee from the gas cooker. Here in Australia, I prepare my coffee with an espresso maker and I must say, the coffee tastes excellent!

As we sat at the table and had an apple for breakfast, we discovered that we had company. Two owls had made themselves comfortable in the trees above our rooftop tent. They dozed away and it was the first time in my life that I had seen an owl. So the day started off well! After a long hot shower, we packed up and started the day. Our next stop was the supermarket, where we grabbed a quick snack because hiking was on the agenda for today.

Our hike took us through the "Noosa National Park", as mentioned yesterday, we explored the east coast, and today we tackled the west coast. We started by hiking along the water and the coast in one direction, and to avoid having to go back the same way, we took the route through the park, that is, through the forest.

Even in the car on the way to the parking lot, we saw the amazing colors of the water and were thrilled.

The hike itself covered about 10km and was relatively easy in terms of incline. As described earlier, we started our hike along the coast and what can I say? It was incredible.

Turquoise water, golden beaches, rocky cliffs, and there was a lot to discover in terms of wildlife as well. After about 20 minutes, we encountered our first highlight. We saw an animal sitting high up in the canopy of a eucalyptus tree. It was not easy to identify, but after looking at it from various perspectives, it became clear that it was the first koala! We saw a koala!😍

Although it was mostly asleep and only showed us its backside, we saw a koala!

A short time later, we made the next discovery. Two dolphins appeared along the coast! Although we could only observe them from a distance, it was still a great sight.

As soon as we turned the next corner, a fish eagle was waiting for us. It was resting on a branch just about 2 meters away from us, a magnificent creature!😍

We continued along the coast and enjoyed beautiful views of stunning bays the entire time. On the way back through the forest, we even saw a relatively large snake, which made me quite uneasy as I suspect it was the "Eastern Brown Snake", which would be the second most venomous snake in the world. However, it quickly disappeared and so did we, but in the opposite direction!😳

Along the way, we were able to admire some birds and butterflies, and a short time later, we were back at the parking lot. In total, we hiked for about 2.5 hours, which was completely worth it.

Afterwards, we went back to the beach where we saw the koala, as we wanted to cool off there again. The water was wonderful and even without a diving mask, we could see various fish swimming around us!

We let the waves carry us for a while and then let the sun dry us off.

On the way back to the car, we recounted how many amazing animals we had already seen today and we were super happy.

Our next stop was the supermarket, where we got a few more things. From there, we drove to the same campground as yesterday because we decided to stay in "Noosa" for another day because we love it here so much!

At the campground, we prepared a very nice dinner and relaxed in the evening. As it started to get dark, we even got to watch some bats. However, they seemed huge to us, so we did a little research. They were most likely the "Australian Ghost Bat", which is the largest bat in the world, which would explain our amazement at the size of the bats!

We had an amazing day full of discoveries and now we are exhausted from the day in our rooftop tent.

I'm looking forward to tomorrow because we want to see what "Noosa" has to offer outside of its national park.

Greetings from Noosaville, Australia!🇦🇺
