Can you imagine a dead straight road 27 kilometers long? And with a parallel cycle path the entire way? That is one of the highlights of today, another was the visit to a cemetery. A cemetery always reflects the mentality of a people. This one was very different to ours. In such small houses I saw what looked like floors inside, with a coffin covered with white curtains on both floors. I did not take a photo of this out of respect.

Today I started before sunrise. I took the starting photo at 6:51 a.m. And it was worth it, because it was still cool and I was alone on the road for almost the entire 10 kilometers. In Nazaré I decided at short notice not to take the Komoot route. In my experience, the EV-1 was better in terms of road quality. Today it was the other way round and I was once again able to use a kind of stream bed, which was also very steep. The highest point was 180 meters above sea level, although I started from scratch. I walked many meters because that seemed safer to me.

Then it was a steep descent back down to zero to Nazaré, which is known for its high waves, especially among surfers. You can see from the photos that these waves are big. But here they can be up to 20 meters high, or so I was told.

I then continued on cycle paths again. According to Komoot, today it was over 54 kilometers, just half of the entire route.

Shortly before my destination I had to cross a wide river on a federal highway. Thanks to another Komoot user I knew that this was possible, as there is a cycle path here too. But when I arrived, the cycle path and the right-hand lane were closed due to construction work. Luckily it was Sunday and the lane for the work was not being used. So I took that lane and crossed the bridge happily and without any annoying obstacles.

I stood in the shade at the harbor and started looking for a hotel. I quickly decided on a boutique hotel, which I am extremely happy with.

Are you imagining a straight road 27 kilometers long? And also with a bike cart parallel to the whole route? This is one of the most striking moments of today, another was the visit to a cemetery. A cementery always reflects the mentality of a people. It was so different from ours. In houses that are too small, you see interior spaces, with a covering made of white curtains hanging on both floors. I didn't take a photo out of respect.

Today I started before I fell in love. Take the first photo at 06:51. I lost my pen because I still have to walk freely and only walk on the road for about 10 complete kilometers. In Nazaré we decided, in a short space of time, not to take the Komoot route. According to the experience, the EV-1 was better in terms of the quality of the roads. Today it was raining and I could again use a species of arroyo yeast which was also very dry. The highest point was 180 metres above sea level and started from zero. I walked many meters because I seem more safe.

I descended abruptly until I reached Nazaré, known by its high waves, especially among the surfers. You can see in the photos that these eyes are huge. Here you can grow up to 20 meters in height, I laughed.

Then I continued again with the bike carriages. According to Komoot, today it was more than 54 kilometers, even the middle of the whole route.

A little before my destination I thought I would cross a river and take a federal road. Thanks to another Komoot user I noticed that this was possible because there is also a bike trailer here. But when arrived, the bike carriage and the right-hand carriage were blocked off because of the works. Luckily it was Sunday and the work track was not yet used. So he woke up without any problems and crossed the bridge happily and without any annoying obstacles.

I saw the shadow of the port and started looking for a hotel. I quickly decided on a boutique hotel which was very satisfactory.
