But from the beginning. It started yesterday afternoon. Rumors about flight cancellations at Frankfurt Airport because freezing rain had been predicted accompanied us all afternoon. I have no idea how many people wrote to me asking whether our flight to Calgary, the start of our NHL trip with SportFan Reisen, would also take place🤷🏼‍♀️ I was totally optimistic. Then unfortunately we received news from our tour guide that the flight was cancelled. And the misery began. For us it was a matter of waiting. Our travel companions Team Stefan, Andi and Miri did their best. I'd like to have the nerve. All afternoon until late in the evening on the PC or in some waiting loops to rebook our tour group of at least 50 people. There was always a glimmer of hope, which was then suddenly dashed again. It was then clear to the three of us that we had to pack our bags, set the alarm a little later and see what happened the next morning (today). An update shortly after getting up, there are a few flights via Toronto and Montreal. Unfortunately, all of us are no longer available due to time. Nevertheless, we got into the car and headed towards Frankfurt Airport. Shortly after Stuttgart the information is definitely not working today. Our tour guides did everything they could, really awesome. Thank you at this point for your tireless efforts. We continued our journey a little more relaxed and first took a breakfast break at the golden M. So gentlemen. Not me. I still don't trust them again after spending the New Year in the bathroom in front of the bowl after enjoying a chicken nugget😅. Arrived at the airport, parked the car at the reserved parking space directly at the terminal and went to the Discover Airlines counter. There we met Stefan, who had been here since 6:00 a.m. this morning to somehow bring everything to Calgary tomorrow. Hats off. The commitment of the SportFan Reisen team is really great. As much heart and soul as everyone puts into the matter, respect. As of now, tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. we are flying non-stop to Calgary. So keep your fingers crossed. Discovery then gave us vouchers for an overnight stay in a hotel and a taxi ride there and back to the airport. Now we are staying at the H4 Hotel Messe Frankfurt for one night. Quite okay. A quick room inspection and then we started. We wanted to walk to “The Little Pub”. It was quite a slide. The sidewalks were badly worn. The second taxi that passed was hailed and we arrived safely. A small, cozy darts bar. There wasn't much going on, but we didn't care. A few beers, 2 glasses of wine spritzer, a few rounds of darts and the time flew by. Back at the hotel it was time to grab some food. At the buffet we were able to fill our stomachs and reflect on the day again. Afterwards I took care of a refrigerator for all my drugs and the friendly receptionist was also free to print out the voucher for our rental car. I realized we needed it printed out🤷🏼‍♀️ Now we have it. Jörg then moved on to eye care, while Andi and I now hold down the fort in the hotel bar. I think that's enough texting for today😅
