If we usually travel to Spain for vacation, we drive through in one day. Because this time everything is different and we have more time, we decided to stay in the Perigord (F) for two nights. The day trip took us along the Dordogne. Incredibly beautiful and impressive, but also incredibly touristy! That's why we tried not to be recognized as tourists. However, this failed miserably at the restaurant. One of the local specialties is fois de gras de canard. Yes, we tried it of course. I don't have to eat it every day. The thing with the duck liver is tricky, apparently the cute animals don't have it easy.
What stood out to us in particular? Everywhere the response to a question or a request is 'il n'y a pas de souci' (no problem). 'Vous desirez du vin?' (Do you want some wine?) 'Non, je doit encore conduire.' (No, I still have to drive.) The response: 'il n'y a pas de souci'. I believe that 80% of the time it was even meant seriously.
