Boxing Day and no albatrosses

December 26th is Boxing Day. It has nothing to do with the sport but with the box. In the 19th century It was probably customary in the Commonwealth for domestic servants to receive a box of Christmas presents on Boxing Day. Today, boxes also play a role because on Boxing Day, stores lure customers into the stores with big discounts. This is where the wonderful transformation of Christmas gifts of money into goods will take place. And it works brilliantly, as you can see from the huge snake. So a busy day for the bargain hunters. There was 35% off everything. Mathematically, this is quite challenging, since in addition to the discount, the exchange rate (0.57) also has to be taken into account. According to preliminary estimates, the pair of Nike Air sports shoes cost around 55 euros and those from Puma cost 50 euros.

I'll never take off the Puma (soft ride) ones again, they're so comfortable. The travel companion didn't buy anything...

Then there was the Royal Albatross Center and the penguins on the Otago Peninsula. But unfortunately, unfortunately the albatross does not fly in bad weather and only through a guided tour can you see the birds sitting on the ground from afar. The penguins (the smallest species in the world) probably only appear in the evening. Unlucky. But bargains come first.
