08/23/2019. On the way from Vimmerby to Öland, we stopped at Virum Älgpark to participate in a moose safari. After being told a little bit about the moose and important rules of conduct, the very nice owners gave us small twig branches in our hands. Then we were driven into the quite large enclosure with a tractor and several trailers. We were already greeted by a few moose at the entrance, who immediately started eating the twigs. A nice welcome committee. After a small tour through the enclosure, we stopped and got apples and potatoes to feed them. The other moose came right away. They were not at all shy, but rather cheeky. We had plenty of time to stroke and observe these impressive animals. As a souvenir (after a lot of effort), we also got the 'moose kiss' 😘 😬. In the park, there is also fallow deer, but they were too shy to feed.
In the souvenir shop, we stocked up on funny moose figures. Let's see who will get them.
