Hochzeit im Stall 💍/ Wedding in the barn 💍

Ippubblikat: 11.10.2021

Hey, here is a new blog entry for you again! 🙋🏼‍♀️

A longer update I would rather say, because a lot happened in the last three weeks. 😉

I know, it's been a bit again, but I’ve been very busy. By the way, we have successfully finished our first month! 🙌🏻 But where do I actually start? Now we don't have morning exercises at 6 am. I'm not against exercises or anything, but I really don't have to have it in the morning. 😂

What's new now this school year is that we have to write a book report every month, discussing critical points and dealing with things. Linguistically, it's not a problem anymore. Sometimes I even have trouble stopping. 😅😂

Tuesday (tomorrow) is our first grading day. That's when we turn in our monthly projects in again and have dinner with all the staff families. At the end, students share what they‘ve learned. This time helps to reflect on the month again. 💭

I feel like the new students are starting to arrive here at the Ranch now. I get asked things a lot because everything is still new to them. Funny to see that I was in the exact same situation last year. Totally lost. 🤪 It sometimes feels like I'm a Google machine. 😜 But I'm always happy when I can help and I love my new tasks. Among them, for example, managing the cleanup in the kitchen after a meal or passing on information to the new students. :)

Last Saturday there was a wedding here at the Ranch. 👰🏼🤵🏽 Two former students said yes to each other. 💍Everything was decorated so beautifully. It was an honor to be there with them. It's great to witness an American style wedding. 🇺🇸 However, I must say that it is very similar to how we do it in Germany. The atmosphere was just super nice. I was also asked if I can film parts with my phone and then make a little video about it. As soon as I have the film footage from the other people, I can start. It's going to be fun! 🎬🎞There was a reception  in Corry afterwards. 🎉

Last Thursday was 'homeschool day' at the Ranch. Families from all over came and spent this day at our ranch to hear seminars and get everyday tips. There was even pony riding, climbing and other games for the kids. The fire department also came. No, there was no fire. 🔥 She told us about what dangers lurk at home and how to prevent from situations. There were also interesting facts about the equipment. After that, the children could try to get the balls from the construction site hats with the water hoses. 👨🏼🚒

Last weekend we had the Lady Retreat. 136 women arrived to just relax. So during the day there was the offer to go horseback riding, climbing or crafting or just sitting around the campfire and enjoying the delicious Peach-cobbler. In the evening it came more to the more relaxed part. A wellness evening and a movie night. 📽 There everyone could make themselves nice and enjoy delicious snacks. 🍇🧀 The women visibly enjoyed it. This retreat is one of the biggest here and is always a great success. In addition, there were devotions that also satisfied the 'spiritual hunger'. All in all, a good time.

I have made some really good new friends here. I get along quite well with some of the group. Meet Katie in one of my pictures! 😉

What else is new at the Ranch? The ranch bought a longhorn bull calf! This one will grow up to be a big and magnificent animal. Devotions on the mountain (Message from the Mountain) will probably be given on him later as well. 😃

Fall has returned and it is my favorite season! 😍 Look at those colors. Lots of trees are changing to red. I don't remember us having colors this strong. Or I just never paid that much attention. 😅 Good thing my birthday is in this beautiful season! 🍂🍁

Fall is here and so is Thanksgiving break soon. In a month or so I'll be going back home with a student. It goes again to the state of New York. But I won't tell you more yet. 😎 You can see it in my Instagram Story when it is so far. 😉

Our next event at the Ranch is the Harvest Party. 🎃 There is supposed to be a pie contest. Who can make the most beautiful, delicious and stable Pie? 🥧 The winner can graze prizes. There will also be the tractor pulling contest again. I remember it well from last year. That's when I thought, 'That's typically American!'. 🇺🇸 After that, there are games like donut quick-eating or other fun activities. This event goes again for a day and is to have fellowship with others. 🙌🏻

I am doing well so far. I feel like I've gotten back into the swing of things now after my little break outside of the US. 🙃🤗

Hope you all are doing well! ☺️ Trying to post regularly again now, but sometimes it's okay to take a break and just enjoy what God has prepared for you. 😃

With that, a blessed new week to you! 🤗👋🏻
