59 km, 2 locks

After seeing the highlights of Wanssum the day before, we left in the morning after a short shopping trip at the Jumbo supermarket in Wanssum, which really exists and is called that. Breakfast was served on board, as it often is on this trip, alternating between driving and eating. Today, we had to be in Roermond by 5:00 p.m. because Michael had registered with Claudia, the harbor master, and rented two bicycles, which had to be picked up by 5:00 p.m. After 3 hours, we were just before Venlo, and since we didn't want to jeopardize the 5:00 p.m. appointment, we decided not to dock in Venlo. Fricandel special and fries with peanut sauce would have to wait. This section of the Maas is also very beautiful, comparable to the last stage. Two young cows got into a fight and clashed heads on one of the many meadows, we could hear it from the boat, I've never seen that before. Many goose and duck families were on the way, as well as swans. There were even black swans once, which I have never seen in our latitudes. Around 4:00 p.m., we arrived at the Roermond lock, where we had to dock at a single post, which was not that easy because the boat kept breaking loose at the front and back, but Michael has so much experience now that nothing happened. Right after the lock, we were already in Roermond, and after another 3 km in the City Marina in the Herten district, we reached the end point of our journey. Michael took care of the formalities, and we had 2 Kölsch beers to end the trip, which Michael had stored. We arrived safely and full of impressions!
