Yesterday morning, we took a bus from Ao Nang on the coast to Khao Sok National Park, which is further north and inland without a coast. Once we arrived, we went on a search for a two-day tour through the park, which has the oldest rainforest in the world, and decided on a camping tour on Friday where we will stay overnight in the national park. In a hammock and under the open sky - we are already very excited.
In the evening, we took a walk in the village at the national park entrance, where our hostel is also located, until it got dark and had dinner at a small restaurant.
The next day, we had a quieter schedule planned, as I am a bit cold and still hope to be fully fit for a diving certificate on Koh Tao next week. So, I spent a relaxed day on the terrace of our second hostel. We were asked to leave our first hostel, as the owner was angry that we booked the tour with a cheaper provider. If someone does not want our money, they probably have enough...
In the evening, we went for another walk, this time into the national park. However, you are not allowed to enter many routes without a guide; by the way, there is only one route that you can tackle alone. We walked along this route for as long as the time allowed until the park closed, and then turned back to avoid having to pay the night surcharge.
The evening was also meant for my recovery, so we just had dinner and went to bed after a movie. Tomorrow, we will start our adventure in the jungle at 9 am, and hopefully leave healthy and lively by the next afternoon.
