Riding to the North Cape - the plan

For me, Hanna, the plan to ride to the North Cape by bike is already a few years old. As a Scandinavia fan (long live the canoe tour in Sweden!), maybe an obvious thought? In 2011, I planned it with two friends, but due to time constraints, it turned into a Denmark-South Sweden tour.

With Gert as well, we postponed it to a time when we have more time than just the standard vacation. And now it's time to go. At some point, we decided to try it despite the corona pandemic.

The original plan was to take the ferry to Helsinki and ride along the Finnish Baltic coast. But the question of when you can enter Finland naturally raises doubts.

The alternative is to ride along the Swedish Baltic coast to the north and then see what the entry requirements are when you reach the borders of Finland and Norway.

Now that it is again allowed to stay overnight in all federal states between here and Travemünde near Lübeck, we are back to the plan of starting from home. At the moment, we prefer the route via the Lahn River (instead of the Fulda) to get to Kassel. But this will be assessed at short notice with the incidence numbers that regulate everything. We are planning to start on June 1st.
