"It is better to see something once than to hear about it a thousand times." - Asian proverb

This proverb applies very well to Singapore in our opinion. A country and at the same time a city that everyone in the world has probably heard of. But one should not expect anything extraordinary from the city.

To do justice to Singapore, let's start from the back. We left the country by plane (we arrived by bus when entering). The airport was exactly as we imagined Singapore to be. The flooring is carpeted or simulated marble floor. You check in everywhere on your own and go independently through control barriers that address you by name. You scan your passport and look into a camera at the same time, then scan your flight ticket, the first barrier opens. Then comes the thumbprint and only then does the second barrier open and you are inside the airport. Body screening and taking out your things from the box, just like on any flight, but the special thing is that the box automatically returns. The airport toilets more closely resemble a five-star hotel.

That is exactly what corresponded to our image of Singapore, but the city is a "normal" big city. We suspect that the special thing is rather the system, which is certainly very advanced and is not visible at first glance.

The relatively young country has a very well-developed infrastructure. It is a very organized, structured, clean and monitored city. The skyscrapers tower above you on the left and right in the center and can be seen from everywhere. One or the other skyscraper is very impressive and impressive in terms of architecture. You can go shopping everywhere or enjoy yourself in great restaurants with the necessary money.

It feels like a pure business city. Everyone is on the move and busy with their phones. If someone looks up, they have headphones in their ears and a thoughtful look as if they are listening to a podcast on how to become even more successful. Visually, every tourist or low earner stands out more than anywhere else, if you don't wear high heels as a woman or don't feel like world-famous brands, you already feel out of place.

When talking to students, the most important thing for them is to make a career.

To create a perfect balance to work, the country is full of leisure activities. Whether a huge aquarium with sharks and stingrays or a theme park where you can also swim with dolphins or penguins. A leisure island that can be reached by cable car or a night safari. The zoo and the main attraction, the "Gardens by the Bay", are also popular. If you work here, everything is certainly no problem, but not for us. In the four days, we left 100€ every day just to live and of course also to see something.

We visited three very beautiful museums (Natural History Museum / ArtScience Museum / Buddha Museum), as well as a very nice Chinese temple, the Gardens by the Bay (with the OCBC Skyway / Flower Dome / Cloud Forest) and some neighborhoods.

It was very exciting and interesting days. We are glad we saw it, even though we were not feeling well at all. We were both pretty sick for the first two days. But if you only have four days, the bed is not an option.😕

But we saw everything we wanted to see 😊👍

Wieder tolle Bilder und ein spannender Bericht. Wohin soll es jetzt gehen ? Sucht Euch doch mal einen kleinen Bungalow und erholt Euch von den bisherigen Strapazen.
