So here it is, the big day. After about 1 year of preparation, endless research and countless emails, we are now embarking on making our dream come true. In the next four months, we will be travelling through the South Pacific, visiting 11 countries more or less intensively.

A big thank you to everyone who made our farewell easier with useful and funny gifts or many good wishes.

We unfortunately had to give up our self-set goal of starting with only 17 kg of main luggage per person after various packing and unpacking actions. It ended up being just under 20 kg for each of us, even though we hardly have any clothes with us. The carry-on baggage is also already at its limit. So it seems that restraint is required with the souvenirs.

The first stop, if you can call it that, is Frankfurt/Main. From there, the plane will leave for New York tomorrow morning.
