Farewell and the journey to new shores

Ippubblikat: 13.10.2024

On the morning of my departure from Lagos, I meet two Germans who are also traveling home by bus and train, so I'm not the only 'crazy' one. Since the journey from the south of Portugal takes about 40 hours, I'm making two overnight stops. One - Guarda, on a hill somewhere in Portugal - I've already done. The old town really looked old, the cathedral was large, and the hostel was newly and beautifully furnished.

Now it's off to Lille in France and then to Germany. On the bus, I have plenty of time to reflect on my hike once again. Even in the last days of hiking, I became nostalgic because it was such a wonderful experience. In addition to the beautiful views of the coastal landscape, it was especially the spontaneous conversations with different people that moved me. I am very grateful for these unique encounters with people and nature. 🥰

Additionally, I learned quite a bit, particularly regarding luggage planning. I can also take a lot from my hike on a personal level, and I'm curious how much of that I will integrate into my everyday life.

So now it’s time to say goodbye to the Fishermen's Path, to the sea, to the other hikers, and to blogging. ;) At the same time, the journey continues - I'm already looking forward to the upcoming experiences that await me somewhere on my (life) path.

P.s.: If you’re now also tempted to hike the Fishermen's Path and have questions about the trail, accommodations, or other aspects of the hike, but don't know my number, feel free to write to me in the comments or on Instagram (juli.bo_nane).
