4th stage from Villach to Pontebba

After a short climb, today we mostly went downhill. Riding on the old railway tracks, partly through tunnels, it was a pleasant route. We made our first stop just after the border. Then we continued to Tarvisio, where we had lunch. There we enjoyed delicious pasta (Tagliatelle al Funghi con Prosecco). Moving on along the old railway tracks until the next stop. An old train station was converted into a rest area. The beer tasted great at 30 degrees. We also cooled off in the nearby stream. Ice-cold water, super clear and drinkable. Then we continued downhill (without pedaling!) to Pontebba. The sleepy village is our destination today. The friendly hostess welcomed us in German. The room is simple, but cozy. After a shower and a short break, we took a stroll through the village. Last week there was a straw figure building competition here. And so various figures lined our way through the small village. Another Aperol and some food. And then a break until tomorrow. Then we continue to Udine.
