My inspiration

Ippubblikat: 05.08.2017

Why do people do this?

Why do people run through the wilderness of Europe, uphill and downhill, when they could have it much more comfortable?

Why do people put themselves through this?

And why do people do this all alone?

Well, there are certainly many possible answers. Let's see what comes to mind:

I am searching for the self within me, want to find myself, spiritually clear my mind in solitude with the paths of abstinence.
Do you know someone who is searching for something?
Do you know someone who is searching for something?

Or!

Hape Kerkeling with 'Ich bin dann mal weg', inspired me to do this.

As I said:
As I said: 'Silly hat!'

Or!

I once knew a chaplain in Wetzlar who hiked the Camino de Santiago with a friend from Wetzlar to Santiago de Compostela.

Or!

My nephew Sven, who is constantly hiking somewhere, gave me the idea to do this.

Sven, my role model!
Sven, my role model!

Or!

I don't really remember anymore. What I do know for sure is that I am not searching for the self within me or for someone else who could be within me. That doesn't really appeal to me.

The chaplain actually gave me the idea back then, but I didn't know about the Camino de Santiago. Well, when I read Hape Kerkeling, I found the idea quite exciting, but through the audiobook I realized how touristy the Camino de Santiago is. So I needed another solution.

The last question was 'Why do people do this all alone?' Well, I actually ask myself that too. Wander-Sven didn't really have enough time, although he would have liked to come along. A guided tour group was somehow out of the question. Then I couldn't think of anyone and suddenly the thought of 'I'M GOING ALONE' settled in. And it really settled in. Well, but just a few days ago it dawned on me, I am truly alone. No one to chat with! But fortunately, there are phones, right?

But back to the search for the route:

A 'crossing of the Alps', from Munich to Venice. Wow, that must be it, that is the solution....

Curious about what happens next? Then tune in again tomorrow on AlleinWandernZumGardasee, when it's time for 'The Route Planning'

P.S. I would appreciate it if you mark the reports with 'like' and possibly even share them on Facebook. Thank you very much!
