Maastricht in the morning

Maastricht is a beautiful city. Going through the wide, empty streets, I realize how many beautiful places the city still has to offer. I would love to stop at every corner and have someone explain the stories behind each place. The view over the Sint Servaas Bridge is impressive, with the wide Maas river finding its way through the riverbed and the sunrise in the background.

While walking, I also notice the liberal streets - a path for pedestrians, cyclists, buses, and cars. It's a pity that we have to leave today. We would have needed more time to fully explore the soul of the city. Who knows? Maybe we'll come back someday?

The rich breakfast is very typical of the country. We can try cheese, delicious streusel for bread, and poffertjes. Well-rested and with a good feeling, we leave our hotel and head to the bus stop. We take one last nostalgic look back at the hotel. But the journey must go on.
